There are a variety of safety plans to consider when you are or have been a victim of domestic violence. Safety Plans can be a very important tool for victims to create and use.
Often deciding to leave puts a victim at greater risk for increased violence. IF you are preparing to leave your abuser, creating and going over your safety plan with an advocate will assist you with a safe escape plan.
Call our FRC office, 540-483-5088 and ask to speak with a domestic violence case manager or call our hotline, 540-483-1234 and speak with a crisis worker. Both will assist you develop a safety plan and remember – if you write it down, keep it confidential, keep it in a safe place and DO NOT inform your batterer of your decision to leave.
